International Women’s Day at Global Study UK

Empowering Women in Education and Beyond!

March 8th is a global celebration of the achievements, resilience, and contributions of women across the world.

The very first International Women’s Day was held in 1911, and more than a century later, we continue to celebrate the remarkable strides women have made in education, careers, and society.

Women at Global Study UK played a very important day from the first day we opened 14 years ago, and will continue playing a huge role in our future. I am so proud that we have great [female] representation, including in leadership” – Amer Mourad, founder and CEO at Global Study UK.

Education: A powerful tool for empowerment

At Global Study UK (GSUK), we understand that education is one of the most powerful tools for empowerment.

By helping women access world-class degrees across the globe, we are committed to shaping a future where every woman has the opportunity to pursue her ambitions.

Our mission is to support aspiring female students in achieving their academic and professional dreams. Whether it’s guiding students through university applications or providing career pathways for the incredible women who work with us, we are dedicated to breaking barriers and creating opportunities.

Through our support, thousands of young women from across the MENA region and beyond have gained access to world-class universities, paving the way for successful careers in STEM, business, arts, and beyond.

EMPOWERING WOMEN ISN’T JUST SOMETHING WE ADVOCATE FOR – IT’S SOMETHING WE LIVE BY.

We take pride in fostering a diverse, inclusive, and gender-equal workplace.

From technology to leadership, student support to strategic decision-making, women are at the heart of our success. Their knowledge, expertise, and dedication have been shaping our journey since the very beginning, reinforcing our long-standing commitment to inclusivity and excellence.

Leading by Example

One of our directors, Wioleta Londono, has been working with Global Study UK since the company was founded 14 years ago.

Today she leads multiple GSUK teams with her unwavering determination and wealth of experience across a variety of departments, including admissions and marketing.

It’s easy being a woman in leadership when you work with respectful men. We have built a strong foundation, the four of us – Amer, Adel, Andy, and myself.”

Wioleta shares her insights for women aspiring to enter the worlds of business and education:

My advice is to take the time to build leadership skills, learn from the people you work with, and develop emotional intelligence and adaptability. Communication is key in education – you interact with people from all walks of life, from young students embarking on the most important journey of their lives to professional university representatives and partners.”

She also highlights the importance of celebrating women’s achievements:

This is an important day to recognise and celebrate women’s successes from all walks of life. I love seeing more and more women becoming career-driven, stepping up the ladder, and earning better positions. We should all support each other, be proud of our achievements, respect and admire one another – because we are stronger together.”

A Commitment to the Future

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting women in education, careers, and leadership.

Whether it’s the students applying to university with us or the women in our company working to make higher education accessible, we continue to champion their ambitions and achievements.

On this International Women’s Day, we celebrate not just the progress made but also the incredible potential that still lies ahead. We honour the women who inspire us – our students, our colleagues, and all those paving the way for future generations.

Here’s to the women shaping the future – one degree at a time!
